I am pleased to announce the opening of new Government Schools ready to commence teaching and learning this year, located in Armstrong Creek and Torquay North.
The Armstrong Creek School, with a Special School and Torquay Coast Primary School (previously known as Torquay North Primary School) will be opening in Term 1, 2018.
I am proud to have been a part of their delivery, as I fought and achieved the purchase of land and an allocation of funding within the 2014 Liberal Government State Budget.
I am excited to see new opportunities for kids within our region to learn and grow.
With Torquay’s P – 6 College and Bellbrae Primary School having almost 1,500 students currently enrolled, and Armstrong Creek and Torquay continuing to be major growth areas, the delivery of new Primary Schools will ensure that the pressure on our current Primary Schools is relieved.
Armstrong Creek School will take over 400 students with many new and key learning facilities and options available.
Within the Armstrong Creek School precinct will also be a special school to assist children with learning disabilities.
This will aid and support families with special needs children – and will be able to accommodate over 200 students.
Torquay Coast Primary School will equally offer modern learning facilities in a welcoming environment.
