Andrew Katos and the Liberal Nationals will ensure that the future of St Joseph’s Football and Netball club is mapped out by contributing $1.5million towards the masterplan and brand new, modern clubrooms at Herne Hill Reserve.
The Masterplan will provide facilities in line with modern standards, primarily; a significant pavilion refurbishment and extension, courtside facilities for netball including a public toilet, the xtended pavilion including six gender-neutral change facilities.
St Joseph’s Football Club formed in 1973 and has been a large part of the local community ever since. As the population in and around Geelong increases and with the introduction of a successful Women’s league, Herne Hill is in need to a clear plan for the future.
St Joseph’s players, both male and female, come from right across Geelong and this contribution to the Club demonstrates a future Liberal Nationals Government’s commitment to the encouragement of children to get involved in an active lifestyle and to support grassroots sporting clubs.
“Time and time again, St Joseph’s Football & Netball Club has been very successful on the field – this commitment will provide the funding they need to continue to harness and develop local talent said Andrew Katos MP.
The Liberal Nationals will always put grass roots sport first, unlike the Andrews Labor Government which has spent two thirds of its sport budget on the AFL and elite sport.
